Dr. Andre Panagos, MD is a leading New York City physician specializing in regenerative spine and sports medicine, with nearly two decades of experience treating acute and chronic pain. His practice focuses on non-surgical pain relief, spine care, and functional recovery, placing him at the forefront of a new era in modern medicine that emphasizes healing, performance, and long-term wellness. Dr. Panagos is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine, is also a New York State-certified Medical Acupuncturist, a practitioner of Functional Medicine, and is highly trained in interventional ultrasonography and regenerative therapies.

Dr. Panagos earned his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science degrees from St. George’s University School of Medicine, followed by an internship and residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Washington. He then completed advanced fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Interventional Spine Care at Beth Israel Medical Center under the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. His additional training includes medical acupuncture through UCLA/Helms Medical Institute and functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine, further strengthening his integrative, whole-body approach to care.
Currently, Dr. Panagos serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU Langone Medical Center and , where he contributes to the education of future physicians. He previously held academic and clinical roles at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical College, where he also served as founding co-director of The Spine Center. His excellence in clinical care and teaching has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Willibald Nagler Clinical Scholar Award and the Resident Teaching Award at Weill Cornell.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Panagos is deeply involved in medical education, research, and thought leadership. He has authored textbook chapters, peer-reviewed articles, and books, including Spine: A Rehabilitation Medicine Quick Reference and Lifestyle First Aid. He regularly lectures at national and international conferences and contributes to advancing the field as Chairman of the Program Planning Committee, a member of the Medical Education Committee, and part of the Regenerative Medicine Task Force for the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He also serves as a reviewer for leading journals, including Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and PM&R.
